Last nigh the American Idol travelling show opened up in Portland Oregon. As expected the Top 10 re-did some of their best performances on this year’s show. As expected Matt Giraud performed Georgia to a full house at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. By all accounts the show was a big success.
Thanks to modern technology we are able to see how Matt did. The quality on this video isn’t great, but it is sure nice to see Giraud perform again. Can’t wait til he goes solo.
American Idol Season 8 is going on tour this summer. The live show will feature the Top 10 Finalists on American Idol Season 8 (Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Anoop Desai, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Lil Rounds, Megan Joy, Michael Sarver, Scott MacIntyre and of course Matt Giraud).
The tour will July 5th in Portland, Oregon and take them on a 2 and a half month. The live tour will visit 48 US cities and 2 Canadian cities. The show will definitely be well worth it if you happen to live nereby to one of the performance locations. You can certainly expect that the former Idol contestants will be re-performing some of their most popular performances from Season 8.
This tour will certainly test the endurance of the singers, 50 shows in 2.5 months will really let them know what they can expect in their future music careers.
Check out Matt Giraud performing Marvin Gaye - Let’s Get It On during the credits of the show ‘Access Hollywood’. It is a much different version than the one he did on American Idol this season.
Matt Giraud did a performance of Carrie Underwood - So Small on the Live with Regis and Kelly show. Matt performs outside in Miami Beach and then had a short interview afterwards. Outdoor in Miami Beach! Very cool performance.
Matt Giraud was on the Ellen DeGeneres Show last week. He is starting to relax a bit and do a better interview. He is definitely a guy who is most comfortable on stage, but he really seems to be opening up a bit in his interviews.
Check out Matt on the show: He also performs Marvin Gaye - Let’s Get it on at the end of the interview. (Bad quality but copyright issues)
Matt Giraud has been popping up all over the place since he was unfortunately voted off the show. This is of course the waiting period which takes place at the end of each American Idol Season. Waiting until the former contestants finally get around to putting out their first album.
Last week Matt Giraud was on the DAILY SHOW. It must be tough for Matt and all the other contestants. In a lot of ways they still aren’t professional musicians, but they are doing interviews and meeting some of the biggest stars in the world.
Well, Matt was voted off American Idol last night and it still bugs me a lot. When I look at the competition this year, (and I’ll admit it’s really good), I try to imagine who could actually have a recording career. The next part isn’t meant to be mean.
Kris Allen is a nice kid and a good singer, but he hasn’t inspired anybody yet, and I don’t see it happening in the future.
Allison is terrific, and I wouldn’t have minded a final that came down to her and Matt.
Danny Gokey? It’s a sad story, but does anybody really see him with a big career as a singer? If he didn’t have the story, he wouldn’t be here.
Adam Lambert? I think the signs were there last night. He’s unique for sure, but this is not someone who’s going to attract a lot of people over the long haul.
Go Matt… go forward, and we’ll be looking for your first single.
I don’t know what the rest of the judges were listening to. Matt was great last night, and the one thing you have to agree with me about is that Simon doesn’t pull any punches. Simon loved Matt’s performance.
Matt fans… I’ll say it again. VOTE FOR MATT! Adam Lambert is probably a nice guy but do you really want to be watching his “over-the-top” stuff for the next 10 years. Matt really is an entertainer that you can see becoming stronger and stronger over the years, and I absolutely think he deserves to stay in the competition. I can see him at the piano in 20 years and still being someone you want to listen to.
Matt said he wanted to make the most of his “save” from last week, and he was absolutely determined to do well on Disco Night…. and he did! Disco isn’t even really the right style of music for Matt, but he took the old Beegees classic and made it his own.
Now here’s the reminder for Matt’s fans… VOTE…. VOTE A LOT. Michigan needs to get behind Matt. The country needs to get behind Matt. If you will support Matt, then this competition should really come down to two people Matt and Adam Lambert. I am convinced that Danny Gokey is not getting votes on his talent, but on his story. It’s a sad story and I feel badly for him, but Matt’s a better singer, a better entertainer, and simply has more talent. To repeat… VOTE for Matt
